Bordering on the Kruger National Park, guests wake up immersed in the African wilderness with spectacular scenes of our iconic animals and exquisite sunrises. We pride ourselves on offering guests luxury accommodation with attention to detail, as well as finely curated menus, and a range of high-end wines, imported spirits, and local favorites. We have a fleet of vehicles providing the utmost comfort to guests for game drives through Kruger National Park, or transfers to the airports or Maputo.
We are located in the Mpumalanga province, the “Slowveld” as we locals like to refer to it, roughly an hour north of Nelspruit and KMIA (Kruger Mpumulanga International Airport). Vida Nova Kruger overlooks the crocodile river and Kruger National Park. Guests can savour views of elephants drinking and wading while enjoying a beverage on our expansive deck. We hug the Kruger National Park’s southern boundary, with Crocodile Bridge providing our closest entry point to the park (16km / 20-minute drive).
Komatipoort is our closest town, offering the necessary amenities, doctors, pharmacies, and police. Our nearest hospital is in Nelspruit.
We are conveniently located for easy access to Mozambique for guests continuing their stay with Fire Island Eco Retreats. It is a 30-minute drive to the Rossana Garcia border post, with an additional hour and a half to Maputo.
We are easily accessible by road, with only a 90km drive from Nelspruit and 70kms from KMIA. Please note that airport transfers can be booked in advance at an additional cost.
Transfers from Johannesburg and OR Tambo International Airport take around 5 hours. The main road from Johannesburg is easy and relatively safe to travel, but we suggest guests avoid evening travel. Beware of trucks on the road and ensure you have a credit card or cash handy for the tollgates.
Enter Marloth Park through Gate 2 (Gate 1 is 4km ahead of Gate 2, but we suggest avoiding this entrance as it is for heavy vehicles only). Vida Nova Kruger Eco Lodge is approximately 3km from Gate 2.
Once inside the private estate of Marloth Park, stay on the main road, Olifant Street. Follow the road until you see Soenie Road, and turn right. Follow Soenie Road all the way down, turning left onto Seekoei Road. Look out for Vida Nova Kruger a short distance along Seekoei Road, on the left.
Built in typical South African style with dark face brick and thatch roof, the first feature to strike guests is the expansive wooden deck covering the entire front section of the house. Vida Nova Kruger can sleep a maximum of 17 guests in 8 rooms.
The lodge is divided into two sections. The front section has views over the crocodile river and the game grazing on the front lawn, and houses the master suite, 3 standard rooms and one smaller room. The front house is also where the communal dining areas are as well as the bar and viewing deck.
The back section of the lodge is home to the loft, with a private side entrance, as well as two standard rooms, with a private lounge area. The two standard rooms could be booked with the loft, ideal for families or groups requiring more privacy. The back section is connected to the front with a decked ‘bridge’ where there is a seating area and tv. All of the bathrooms have been fully renovated, featuring high-end finishes, and the latest in bathroom accessories. Bringing in old-world charm, our bathroom cabinets are all personally selected antiques. Our rooms are outfitted with luxurious 300-thread count linen and luxury towels.
Classic Rooms
We offer six Standard Rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms consisting of a shower, toilet, and vanity wash basin. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning units, ceiling fans, hairdryers, water bottles and canopy mosquito nets. Rooms are also fitted with mini bar fridges. Please note that the refrigerator is not stocked with any drinks or snacks. Two of these rooms
are standard double rooms with king beds. The other four can be converted to twin rooms if required. Only two guests per room. None of the rooms are interleading.
The Master Suite
The Master Suite houses a four-poster king bed, with a canopy mosquito net, aircon, and two ceiling fans. This room features a beautiful stone bath, a separate
shower, double sink vanity, and a separate toilet. This room also features its own lounge area with desk space and a mini bar fridge. Please note that the fridge is not stocked with any drinks or snacks.
Aside from our dedicated management, Vida Nova Kruger has a team of support staff, from friendly housekeepers, chefs and our qualified spa therapist, ensuring our guests are thoroughly taken care of. Our manager is on-site to handle any queries or concerns or to arrange excursions

We avoid single-use plastic where possible and encourage guests to make use of our glass water bottles, to refill when needed.
Our bathroom amenities are meticulously sourced, offering a luxurious product that is biodegradable, ensuring we do not compromise the delicate ecosystem, in which we live.
All the rooms have access to our coffee machine and tea facilities atthe upstairs and downstairs dining areas.
We offer accommodation on bed & breakfast basis, as well as full board which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as predinner canapés or snacks and a game drive.

Game drives
We offer daily game drives into the Kruger National Park by qualified guides, in vehicles with all the necessary personal liability insurance, for guests’ peace of mind. Gate times depend on the season: in winter they open at 06:00, in summer they open at 05:30. Guests can choose whether to per day, per vehicle.
We undertake a full-day OR half-day excursion. Please note that due to travel time between the gate and the lodge, we can only offer one game drive offer sunset drives inside Marloth Park with stops at dedicated areas overlooking the Kruger National Park.
Walks in Marloth Park
Depending on availability, we are able to offer guided walks in Marloth Park, or guests can walk around the park at their leisure.
Within the park, we have a variety of general game, ranging from the plentiful impalas, gracious kudus, shy bushbuck, and elegant nyalas. Some of the animals may be dangerous and we urge guests not to walk by themselves before sunrise or after sunset.
You’ll also often observe zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest. With animals free roaming inside Marloth Park, we urge guests to keep a safe distance, as these animals are not tame and should not be approached
or fed.
Bike trails
Marloth Park offers a circuit of 30km, with the option of extending this by making use of the connecting roads. Certain parts of this route hug the fence line of Kruger, and we frequently see elephants, lions, rhinos, hippos, and other big game on the other side of the fence during the rides. We have a map with various cycle routes. Guests are welcome to bring their own mountain bikes and explore Marloth Park at their leisure.
Golf
Komatipoort features an impressive 9-hole course, which is well worth a visit when in the area. For the more avid golfer, the famous Leopard’s Creek Golf Course is around a 45-minute drive from Vida Nova Kruger. Trips to Leopards Creek can be arranged for guests.
External excursions
Night drives in Kruger National Park, tiger fishing, sunset cruises, quad bikes, horseback rides, and panorama routes are all on offer with 3rd party suppliers. These can be arranged with prior notice at an additional charge.

Marloth Park has limited local mobile network connectivity or roaming data reception. WiFi is available throughout the property. Pleas note – limited cellphone and WiFi connectivity during loadshedding. None of the rooms have tv’s, but there is a smart tv in the upstairs lounge.
